I would like to share with you this presentation about ICT in English Language Teaching because we know that technology is a very important tool nowadays and teachers must be updated in the new world.
Thanks to technology teachers can create a lot of materials, on internet we can find many resources that help us to have more ideas for our classes and they are very useful to motivate students.
We can find authentic materials and adapt them according to our lessons; we can also create blogs, wikis and other materials which allow students and teachers to have a very amusing and meaningful class.

Materials designed for English language teaching

Even if there are a lot of ways to get new and authentic materials, 

most of the language institutions work with a textbook which allows 

students to learn a language in a passive way. These textbooks are 

very useful but it’s necessary to vary the materials because students 

are more motivated. Some teachers don’t have enough time to adapt 

or search other materials and work only with the textbook and it’s 

very difficult because students aren’t motivated about this kind of 

classroom strategies. Also textbooks are created for a general user 

but each student has a different way to learn and teachers must think 

and adapt the material according to their students’ needs.

Choosing and using teaching and learning materials. According to the article, in preschools and schools, materials are an essential part of curriculum planning; children and students reach into contact with visual and multimedia materials all the time. In my opinion, the use of these technological materials are quite common in United States Institutions; they prefer that their students learn using technology like, computers, tablets, smart boards, smart phones, online resources, and more. What is more, they prefer that teachers design innovative materials that go along with the advances of technology. Anyway, principals and parents are very worried about those technological elements student’s use, they need to evaluate, select, and know how students access those materials in order to have some sort of control on their use.

I want to share with you a great technological material, this material can help both students and teachers to develop their learning-teaching process. voice thread. This tool helps both teachers and students to share information and knowledge; it also helps the students to develop speaking skills, writing skills, as well as creativeness and technology skills. I think is very good that the students and teachers can have access to the material at any time, not only at school, so we as teacher can evaluated their work at any time or place. The idea the students should have to register, helps to control who is doing what, so we can have a control on who is visiting the presentation. I like the easy access to the presentation so they can add ideas to the presentation expressing their opinion. As online student teachers we can make use of this tool to our on educational needs and purposes. Voiced thread is an updated tool that will motivate students to access the information using technology, something that is very common and familiar to them. CLASS CREATED USING THE VOICE THREAD MATERIAL. Topic: Daily routine and simple present. Average age: The average age is fourteen. Grade level: Eight-grade level. English Learning need: These students need to learn the proper way to express their daily routine. The goal of this class is that the students use this topic to learn the correct use of the simple present by its use, not only grammar memorization. Previous knowledge: They learned how to express time and hobbies; they learned fixed expressions like: in the morning, in the afternoon and at night. They also are able to recognize the simple syntax of a sentence in English (Subject + verb + object) Objective: That students can express their routine at different times of the day, using correctly, the vocabulary and the present tense construction. I added this video because it talks about the importance of choosing teaching material carefully and also about why is it important to use a variety of materials including authentic ones. 

Why is it important to use a variety of materials in the classroom?

People in general learn differently. Each person have a learning style that will predominate to favor learning in a specific way. Using only textbooks in the classroom will only help those students who have that certain type of  learning style but what about the other students who need more visual aids and interaction in order to learn? 
As teachers we face a challenge of providing our students with enough learning scenarios and opportunities so they develop integrally and learn in meaningful ways.
Teachers as well as school administrators are responsible for choosing materials that are age and developmentally appropriate for them and that will guide them through paths of learning. 
This blog has been designed with the purpose of sharing some ideas that we have as future teachers in order to make changes to our teaching practices and show some aspects we have been learning about that might help other teachers on this matter too.
